Placencia, a gorgeous emerald peninsula in southern Belize with 16 miles of sandy beaches, the Caribbean sea to the east and the Placencia lagoon to the west is a puddle jump from Belize City. In the south, Placencia visitors will find the greater concentration of coffee shops, bistros, internet cafes and local restaurants whereas the further north the less populated it becomes. The trade winds blow gentle and cooling and the Belizean sunsets over a deserted Placencia beach are calming to the spirit. Access to the islands is easy and most charter companies are setup inside the Placencia Lagoon.
