The USVI consist of 4 large islands: St. Croix, St. Thomas, St. Johns and Water Island, and some 50 smaller islets and cays. St. Thomas has a beautiful natural harbor and many protected bays. Christmas Cove is an excellent snorkel stop to see turtles or a spotted eagle rays. On the south coast of St Thomas, Frenchman Bay is just a six nautical mile (NM) sail. The west side of Buck Island offers a protective cove with excellent snorkeling and turtles. Once you get through Current Cut, Lovango is just over three NM. Although the bottom is sandy, there are multiple coral heads that can be damaged by anchoring. You will find some of the best snorkeling here in about 10 – 15 feet of water.  The marine life is active, you’ll see schools of yellow tail snapper, sergeant major, bar jack and parrot fish.
